Geoff Carlyle

I studied Fine Art and got a B.A. Hons in sculpture and photography.
After many years teaching art, I set up my own picture-framers and gallery, but continued to practise my own photography, and held several exhibitions of my work around South London.
Today, I continue to explore my fascination with photography, usually using a certain theme such as shadows, reflections, nudes, urban landscapes, graffiti etc. I have a recent obsession with dereliction – peeled advertising boards, junk yards, skips, and waste sites. This has resulted in some very interesting imagery.
The person who I think has had a great influence on my work is Robert Frank, who was an important figure in American photography and film.
